SETTING PREFERENCES
With it turned off, Notes "guesses" the date or time you entered once you press TAB or click out of the field. (For example, if you enter "24/06/2001" in a date field and press TAB, Notes guesses that you mean "Sat 06/24/2001" and changes it as such.)
Notes can "guess" wrong, so having to enter the full date or time yourself ensures greater accuracy.
Note If the "Strict date/time input" option is turned on, and you see a "Field contains Incorrect Value" dialog box when attempting to enter a value in a Date/Time field, turn off the strict option, enter a value in the field and let Notes "guess" the date. You can also check to see whether the field you're working in has field help explaining the format you must use to enter dates and times in that field.
1. From the menu, choose File - Preferences - User Preferences.
3. Click OK.
