Turning the default alarm system off
You can still set alarms manually on individual Calendar entries.

1. Open the Calendar.

2. From the menu, choose Actions - Tools - Preferences.

3. Click the Calendar & To Do tab, then the Alarms tab.

4. Deselect "Enable the display of alarm notifications."

5. Click OK.
