The Lotus Sametime (instant messaging) directory is a master list of all people associated with your company. Your system administrator maintains your company's Lotus Sametime directory.

You can search your company's Lotus Sametime directory to locate the names of users and public groups. Your company's Lotus Sametime directory does not contain private groups. Searching the Lotus Sametime directory allows you to locate people or groups even when you do not know the exact spelling of their names.

You can access the Lotus Sametime directory when you:

Follow these steps to search the Lotus Sametime directory:

1. Click the "Browse Directory" button icon showing person's head.

2. Choose a directory from the drop-down list. When the contents of the selected directory appear, you can browse the directory contents or search for a specific name:

3. Select the person or group that you want to add to your list or invitation.

4. Click OK or Add.

Tip If you added a public group to your Instant Contact List but do not see the group in the list, all group members are currently offline. Public groups appear in your Instant Contact List only when at least one group member is online. Private groups and their members appear in your Instant Contact List even when the members are offline, unless you change this by displaying only online people.
