To disable view updates as a background task
By default, Notes updates views in the background so you can continue working while Notes performs intensive update tasks. If you want, you can set views to update in the foreground, but, depending on the size of the view, this could interrupt your work.

1. From the menu, choose File - Preferences - User Preferences.

2. Under Additional Options, select "Disable View updates as a background task."

3. Click OK.
