Your online status tells other people if you are available for online chats and instant meetings. Each online status is indicated by a unique icon and a customizable online status message.

If your online status is Active, Away, or Do Not Disturb, an icon appears before your name throughout others' Mail, Calendar, Personal Address Book, and Instant Messaging Contact List to indicate that you are logged on to instant messaging.
