Displaying only online people in the Instant Messaging Contact List
Note The features described in this topic are available only if your company has an IBM Lotus Sametime server, and only for Windows versions of IBM Lotus Notes.

IBM Workplace Managed Client users: If your company uses IBM Workplace Collaboration Services for instant messaging, features may differ from the IBM Lotus Sametime instant messaging features described here. By default, the Instant Messaging Contact List displays all people in your private groups, including Offline people with whom you cannot communicate. If you prefer, you can display only people who are online.

Note Names for people in public groups behave differently than those in private groups. Members of a public group appear in your contact list only when they are online, even if your contact list is set to display all people.

To display only online people in private groups

1. Choose File - Preferences - User Preferences.

2. Click Instant Messaging - Options.

3. Select "Show online people only."

Note If you have used the standalone IBM Lotus Sametime Connect client and set a preference for list sorting there, Notes uses your preference as the default.
